What about the stain/reagent kit?
The AGS Stain kits are a proprietary formulation developed exclusively for GG&B Company. The stains go through an 18 step filtering process to eliminate precipitant and the Grams Iodine is pre-stabilized. The stain kits contain Crystal Violet, Grams Iodine, Safranin and two bottles of decolorizer. The kits will process 110 slides and provide enough decolorizer to accommodate samples, auto-calibrations, and automatic cuvette washes. The AGS Stain kits have a shelf life of two years unopened.
What is the cost of the stain/reagent kit?
There are 110 tests per stain kit and retails for $90.00. Reagent rental programs are available upon request.
What are the benefits of the AGS Unit over manual Gram Staining?
- The AGS is not "technique dependent". You get consistency no matter who processes the slide. With our patented electronic eye, decolorization is perfect every time.
- There is no cross-contamination. The AGS uses fresh stain for each sample slide. No more filtering of stains as with the manual process. This saves time and eliminates the mess.
- The AGS has independently adjustable stain times on both the long and short cycles. It also has the option of decolorizing only if the operator chooses to do so.
- The AGS allows the user to do other tasks while the slide is processing.
- No technical expertise is required to do a quality Gram Stain. As long as the sample is properly heat fixed, anyone can now perform the Gram Staining process with confidence.
- Fewer fluids are used saving the lab disposal fees. The AGS does not have to be placed by sink – can be placed beside a Microscope. Clean sinks are the future while improving your lab work flow.
- Spend more time testing and less time cleaning your machines. Check out the competitors’ recommended scheduled maintaince and you will appreciate the savings being offered by the AGS.
