QS-AFB Acid-Fast Bacillus  New Product Release QS-AFB the Automated Acid Fast Test With a dramatic increase of incidence of Mycobacterial disease, it is more important than ever to find rapid methods for identification of the organism. The current fluorescent techniques to identify acid fast organisms in smears take from 20-30 minutes to perform. Using the new QS-AFB with Rapid Modified Auramine O (SDL), process time is reduced to 90-120 seconds per test. This single slide machine delivers quality and consistency for every test. Counterstain quenches fluorescence of all non-acid fast organisms and debris resulting in a cleaner field of view. It is just as sensitive as other Auramine Stains. QS-AFB can process 8-10 specimen slides in the time it takes to do one (1) slide by the conventional manual method. Pre-fix your slide, touch key-pad, place slide in chamber; that’s it, the QS-AFB does the rest. Once staining is complete, remove the slide, wipe the back side, dry and then view. QS-AFB uses fresh reagent on each specimen, cleans the chamber after each test and requires no daily maintenance. Our automated process eliminates large volumes of reagent fluids going down the sink or having to be disposed of by hazardous waste handlers.
